I hate how fucking bad the directing / camera work is in 99% of porn. Even at it's best it's only technically well executed, but totally missing any kind of plan or vision for what they actually are doing in the set. I feel that porn is almost always filmed like it's some documentary where they just point the camera at the thing and hope to catch something good. And the only time when there seems to be some real plan the director is reaching way too high or it's some Deeper scene where the plot is non existent, and even when it does have plot it's something totally unrelatable for normal person.

Like where the fuck is well directed porn, that has a script to which normal person can relate?

Unfortunately porn always falls into fantasy as has been discussed here. There have always been factors as to why things in porn don't look the same as actual movies and plays off like found footage it's because it's all rushed. It's still taboo to make porn in today's society we just have better technology to make it quickly but that doesn't make it better quality or at least in the minds of producers. Honestly they don't care how it looks so much as how much it sells on their fantasizes that most consumers are requesting. So until the stigma of making porn goes away and it can be created safely (yes, I know it's getting better but it is still awful) we won't get beyond this rushed filming or actual actors to play out these roles.

Most women in big studio porn wanted to be legitimate actresses but didn't make the cut so this where they're left.

Like on the flip side if you've ever seen a celebrity sex tape or fappening footage you'll notice that the real actresses suck at sex work (Kim Kardashian doesn't count she's terrible all around) and that everything is terrible from production to lighting. So you kind of have to let some things go with it all as there's always a caveat.

Just off the top of my head:

1. Overly large video files and/or video files in 4k with ridiculous high bit rates.
I really dislike seeing a scene posted and then seeing it's 5.6 GB for a 35 minute video. It's an automatic turnoff. I only have so much storage space on my computer. I end up using handbrake frequently in the end.

Yeah, that's been a peeve of mine here too. I don't get it. I understand wanting great quality videos but, damn, who needs them that huge? Is everybody here downloading videos and playing on their 85-inch wall-sized TVs? I've got a 25 x 11-inch monitor for my PC, which is what I watch porn on, 720p or 1080p are usually high enough quality for me, I don't necessarily need 4k on everything. and even with a 4TB external harddrive specifically for storing porn, I feel like I'm just wasting space if I download some of these huge files, especially for a single scene. I don't like going over 1.5 GB for a single scene, and even then it was to be for a performer that I really love.

I just checked my files, and my largest video is 4.54 GB, and that's for a 2 hour and 10 minute film with 5 sex scenes in it.

I think the obsession about 4k and FHD quality is dumb..
The file sizes getting bigger and bigger is even more dumb.

Funny enough on rhe flipside, I think male performers have the opposite issue, in the sense that there hasn’t been enough change. There was a time and place for the classics, the greats, Prince Yahshua, Manuel Ferrera, Lexington Steele, Kieran Lee, but those times have long since passed. Women had shorter careers (at least in the days before Milf and Cougars became a thing) but made more money during that time, while men made less money but had longer careers. But the reason for the latter is because not many men can be successful porn stars. Every guy thinks he can because it's "easy" to fuck hot chicks, but having sex on camera is difficult enough for most men. Then being able to get hard, stay hard as long as is necessary, including for multiple angles of sex and the promo pictures, and being able cum on command, is a unique skill. So if a guy can do that, studios are going to keep going back to those reliable performers. So that's why you've often seen the same men in porn for decades.
